Half a year old

Ella turned 6 months old on Friday the 21st... boy how times flies! I took Friday through Tuesday off of work to spend time with her. Cody was in Plano Texas for work Wednesday through Saturday night. We missed Daddy very much. Sunday we shot some 6 month and family pictures at Tanner Springs park in the Pearl District in downtown Portland. It was a little chilly and Ella was sleepy so we'll finish our session with the photographer at our house in a couple weeks. 

Ella recently added carrots to her menu and loved them (pictures below) :) Next up to try is peas! 

Today we had her 6 month check up. Good news, her stubborn ear infection is gone after 2 rounds of antibiotics. She is now 16 pounds (45th percentile) and 26 1/4 inches long (68th percentile). Poor girl had to have 1 oral vaccine and 3 shots in her thighs... not happy about that! :( Her doctor said she is growing great and looks awesome! She doesn't have to go back until 9 months.

Another thing to celebrate.... Mommy lost all 53 pounds she gained while pregnant! Yay! :)

Ear infections are not fun :(

Poor little Ella has an ear infection. We found out Tuesday night after a visit to her doctor. She will be on antibiotics for 10 days. She is also congested and has a little cough. Breaks mommy's heart :( Hopefully she will start feeling better quickly and won't be so fussy and tired. They weighed her at the doctor's office and she was 15 pounds and 3 ounces... getting big!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! We have so much to look forward to in 2011 :) It was so nice having a long weekend home with Cody, Ella & Sammy.

As of December 25^th Ella has been sleeping in her crib in her room like a big girl. No more bassinet in Daddy & Mommy’s room. We’ve had a couple rough nights; but for the most part we have gotten some good sleep. 

Ella has expanded her diet from just formula & rice cereal to now adding oatmeal. So she gets 2 solid meals a day (rice cereal or oatmeal) and the rest bottles.

Pretty soon we will be able to try carrots!

Ella has a new baby named Sophie. We got her at a toy store in the mall. She is a French rubber giraffe and she chews on her frequently! Our little drool machine should have some teeth here soon :)
